Remnant 2 is well-known for its intense game mechanics, which makes it a favorite among Soulslike enthusiasts. With the recent release of the Dark Horizon DLC, players now have access to the new Prism System in Remnant 2. The new game mechanic has changed how you interact with Relic fragments, allowing you to make more customisations to your build. In this guide, we’ll break down everything important you should know about this new Prism System in Remnant 2.

How Does the Prism System in Remnant 2 Work?
The Prism System in Remnant 2 is a rework of the original Relic fragment system. Instead of directly inserting fragments into your relics, you now have a Prism. These fragments determine the types of bonuses and perks your Prism will give you as you level it up.
Prisms provide stat boosts to your character and can be upgraded. It has five slots where you can insert Relic fragments.
Each time a Prism levels up, it gains an additional stack of its inherent bonus. If you stack five Relic fragments, it will unlock the potential for Fusions that enhance your character’s performance.
Since the slots will fuse, it will also free up space for more enhancements. For example, you can fuse health and stamina bonuses into one slot, opening up another for something else.
Fusing Fragments for the Best Bonuses
The Prism system offers new possibilities for character builds and strategies. It gives more flexibility in selecting which Relic Fragments to use.
As you level up your prism, you are given three options to choose from each time. So, while you don’t have complete control over the bonuses, you can influence the odds. By ‘feeding’ specific fragments into your prism, you increase the chance of rolling bonuses that match your build.
With the Prism System in Remnant 2, you can create custom builds that align with your play style. For example, if you’ve selected a fire rate bonus and a reload speed bonus, these can combine into a Gunfighter Fusion bonus.
Fusions aren’t just limited to offensive stats, either. You can combine defensive stats or utility bonuses as well. Getting as many fused slots as possible gives you the freedom to add even more perks and bonuses to your prism.
Here’s a table covering the Fragment combination to get in order to create a particular Fusion:

Getting the Perfect Prism
At level 50, your prism reaches its max level. When you reach level 51, you can unlock Legendary Bonus. These provide damage boosts or perks that make your character nearly invincible.
However, getting a Perfect Prism of your liking is extremely rare and relies on a bit of luck. You’ll have to grind and continuously level up your prisms.

A Perfect Prism will have all five slots fused with powerful bonuses and an unlocked legendary perk at level 50. The system relies on RNG, so you may not always get the exact bonuses you want. But the more you play, the closer you’ll get to building a prism that suits your playstyle.
