The two Italian brothers are back at it again, with the same level of awesomeness, fun, and quests to complete! One of these quests; the Dueling Geniuses side quest, will have you searching for Adaphnikki Boots. If you are stuck at this quest, we have put up this step-by-step guide to help you complete it.
How To Start The Dueling Geniuses Quest In Mario & Luigi Brothership
To start this side quest you need to complete Jellyfish Island and then locate Adaphne. Your previous selection of engine will determine where you locate Adaphne:
- If you selected Adaphne’s engine then you will find her on ‘Shipshape Island‘ on the west side.
- If you selected Technikki’s engine then you will find her in the club on ‘Jellyfish Island‘.
Also, keep the following in mind:
One, this quest is a limited time period quest, and if you do not get on to this and the story moves ahead, you will not be able to come back and complete this quest. Second, selecting any one of the engines does not alter the rewards or the story- it just changes the cutscene.
How To Complete The Dueling Geniuses Quest In Mario & Luigi Brothership
Once you have located Adaphne, talk to her to progress along the story. It is evident that Adaphne has a crush on Luigi. You (Luigi) should talk to Adaphne. After a short conversation, she will tell you that she wants to craft boots for you, but she does not have the materials to do so. She will hand you an ‘Adaphne scope‘ which will help you gather 3 Zokket Alloys from Zok Troopers on the ‘Great Lighthouse Island’.
But before you venture off to the Great Lighthouse Island, speak to Technikki. Similar to finding Adaphne, your choice of engine determines where Technikki will be located.
- If you choose her engine you would locate her on Shipshape Island’s western side.
- If you chose Adaphne’s engine you would locate her near the beach on Jellyfish Island.
She will give you an updated version of the Adaphne scope and it will be called ‘Technikki’s Scope Deluxe’ as Adaphne’s scope had some defects, making collection of the materials easier. She lets you know that even she is crafting boots for Mario and Luigi.
Once you have obtained ‘Technikki’s Scope Deluxe’, travel to ‘Greater Lighthouse Island’ by cannonballing Mario and Luigi together using the cannon.
Upon reaching the island:
- Climb up the stairs, make your way inside, and use the elevator to access different levels.
- From here you have to battle the Zok troopers.
- Upon successfully defeating them you will find the Zokket alloy.
Once you have acquired 3 Zokket alloys, it is time for you to head back to Adaphne and Technikki. When you hand over the 3 Zokket alloys, Adaphne and Technikki both work together to produce the ‘Adaphnikki Boots’.
Rewards For Completing The Dueling Geniuses Quest In Mario & Luigi Brothership
Completing this quest gives you 1 Defense Bean and 1 Heart Bean. These beans increase your max health and defense. Adaphnikki Boots give you increased damage by 30% and Jump +135.
