Like in the real world, you can get swindled in Natlan during the Mamull Rock Color Puzzle. This puzzle has been introduced in Natlan in Genshin Impact 5.2. You have to finish the 3 challenges to complete this puzzle. How To Start The Mamull Rock Color Puzzle In Genshin Impact 5.2
You start the Mamull Rock Color puzzle by speaking to Mamull. Teleport to Master Of The Night Wind Seven Statue and go southeast. You will find Mamull on a podium-like structure trying to reel in customers.
How To Complete The Mamull Rock Color Puzzle In Genshin Impact 5.2
Once you talk to Mamull the Puzzle will begin with the first of the three challenges. While you are here, make a note of the 3 locked chests on the stage. With each challenge completed, one chest will unlock.
Mamull Rock Color Puzzle Challenge #1
He has 3 rocks of different colors (yellow, blue, red, and in order) placed in the center on three boxes. And in front of you, there will be another 3 uncolored rocks (puzzle rocks) in line with the colored rocks. He will let the original rocks be colored for a few seconds, then he will make the colored rocks disappear. You have to remember the sequence of color- yellow, blue and red. On the uncolored rocks in front of you, 2 will get colored (yellow and red) as per the original sequence and you have to color the uncolored rock (middle rock).
You will find 3 colors floating next to you. Extract the appropriate color (Blue) and color the uncolored rock. Go and talk to Mamull. This will complete the first challenge and unlock the first chest.
Mamull Rock Color Puzzle Challenge #2
Mamull entices you for challenge 2, you have to accept it and pay him 500 mora to participate. While what is to be done remains the same as the previous puzzle, you will have 4 rocks instead of 3. The right sequence is blue, yellow, red and red. The puzzle rocks will be colored- blue, uncolored, red, uncolored.
Extract the yellow color floating around and paint the second rock. Extract the red color and paint the fourth rock. Go and talk to Mamull. This will complete the second challenge and unlock the second chest.
Mamull Rock Color Puzzle Challenge #3
In the last challenge you are going to get swindled. Talk to Mamull and give him 500 Mora to start the third challenge. In this challenge, there will be 5 rocks colored- red, uncolored, yellow, blue, uncolored (in order), but all the puzzle rocks will remain uncolored.
Similar to the first two challenges, extract colors and color the rocks according to the order (you can combine two colors to make another color). After coloring the rocks go and talk to Mamull, when he brings the original rocks to compare to your puzzle rocks, he secretly colors the second rock which was uncolored, and presents it to you.
You will lose the challenge. No matter how many tries you take, he will keep sneakily changing the colors
To avoid getting swindled:
Before you accept the third challenge or in case you are referring to this guide while being stuck in a loop for challenge 3: Possess yourself as an Iktomisaur. You will find an ‘Exhausted Iktomisaur’ near the stage where the chests are. Talk to it and you will find out that it is worried because Mamull has trapped its child (Iktomisaur chick) in a cage.
Mamull is using the child as hostage and making the ‘Exhausted Iktomisaur’ change colors of the rock sneakily against its will. Free the child using the key. You will find the key on stage where the chests are, near a barrel with a lamp on it. After freeing the child, go and talk to the ‘Exhausted Iktomisaur’ again. In gratitude, it will want to help you from getting swindled.
Talk to Mamull and start the challenge again after paying him another 500 Mora. Follow all the steps as before. After completing the puzzle talk to Mamull. This time all your color sequences will be correct with the help of the ‘Exhausted Iktomisaur’.
A short cutscene appears where Mamull finds you that the ‘Exhausted Iktomisaur’ helped you out and brings up the topic of its caged child. But since you have already rescued the child, the ‘Exhausted Iktomisaur’ is not worried anymore.
Mamull apologies and you demand your Mora back and he gives it back to you. He goes to talk to the ‘Exhausted Iktomisaur’, but it flaps its wings creating a whirlpool around Mamull, and Mamull seeing the sharp claws of the ‘Exhausted Iktomisaur’ runs away. The cutscene and puzzle ends with the ‘Exhausted Iktomisaur’ thanking you.
And with that, you have completed the Mamull Rock Color Puzzle!
Rewards On Completing The Mamull Rock Color Puzzle
On completing this puzzle you will receive the hidden achievement of ‘Alert and on Guard‘. After all the cutscenes are over, the third chest will get unlocked. This is the Luxurious Chest.
