Farming Simulator 25 lets you make your buck through various means. Owning your own greenhouse is one way to boost your income. Apart from the crops that you grow in your fields, greenhouses let you grow additional vegetables like strawberries, chilies, mushrooms and many more. This guide has every detail on Greenhouses in Farming Simulator 25, including how to setup one, grow products and sell them for profit.
How To Set Up A Greenhouse In Farming Simulator 25
To buy and place a greenhouse, go into Build Mode > Production Chain > Greenhouses. The main input (raw material) for greenhouses is water, so it is best to setup your greenhouses near natural waterbodies to save money on water.
There are 4 types of greenhouses: Rice Sapling Greenhouse, Tarp Greenhouse, Glass Greenhouse and Mushroom Greenhouse.
Tips To Keep In Mind While Setting Up Greenhouses
- You can only place greenhouses on land that you own.
- Keep in mind the ‘Out’ points for pallets in mushroom greenhouses are on the left side of the water intake. All other greenhouses have their out points in line with the water intake.
Guide To Greenhouses #1: Raw Material
- You can obtain water from 3 resources: Natural water bodies on the map, water tanks and ‘old wind wind wheel with water tank‘ (water stations).
- You can source water for free from natural water bodies, whereas water stations charge a fee.
- Your water demand from greenhouses depends upon their size: the bigger the size, the higher the water intake.
- If you have small greenhouses we recommend you use the water barrels : ‘Abi 550’ or the ‘Abi 1600’ to source and transport water. If you have medium and large greenhouses you should use the ‘Lizard MKS 8’ or ‘Lizard MKS 32’.
- If there are no natural water bodies nearby then you should set up water tanks or ‘old wind wind wheel with water tank’.
- To set up these sources of water, go to Build > Containers. The last two are the water sources you want.
Guide To Greenhouses #2: Produce
- Go into the greenhouse you want, and walk over to the symbol as shown in the image above.
- Open the production menu and you shall see the list of produce that you can grow.
- Click on the item you want to grow and select ‘Activate’, the greenhouse will then start growing that item.
- You can use the ‘Change Output Mode‘ for options like: ‘Storing‘, ‘Selling’, and ‘Distribution‘.
- Storing enables the greenhouse to produce the selected item till it has the required liters needed to deploy a pallet (option to store the pellets in the outpoints once they are ready).
- Selling option lets the greenhouse sell the produce but in return takes 20-40% commission (commission varies for easy, medium and hard economy settings).
- Distribution option lets the greenhouse distribute the produce directly to where there is demand, and charges no commission.
- Cycles per month denote how many times that item will follow the recipe (water + the produce) in a month. And cost per month means how much you will have to pay.
Greenhouse Type | Size | Output |
---|---|---|
Rice Sapling | Only one standard size | Rice Saplings |
Tarp | Small, Medium and Large | Chili peppers, Garlic, Lettuce, Napa Cabbage, Spring Onion, Strawberries and Tomato |
Glass | Small, Medium and Large | Chili peppers, Garlic, Lettuce, Napa Cabbage, Spring Onion, Strawberries and Tomato |
Mushroom | Small, Medium and Large | Enoki and Oyster Mushrooms |
Guide To Greenhouses #3: Selling And Moving Pallets
- Selling your produce is very straightforward in Farming Simulator 25. You select the product that you want to sell and you sell it to the buyer of your choice.
- Setup selling points where you can sell your produce.
- Hutan Pantai has a great demand for produce grown in greenhouses.
- For shifting pallets you will need to equip your vehicle with a pallet fork. If you are going to use a tractor it has to have the option of attaching a front loader in order to use a pallet fork.
- If you have less quantities of pallets to sell and a smaller greenhouse ecosystem we recommend you use a forklift to move around pallets rather than purchasing a tractor and attaching it with a pallet fork.
And with that, you have all the information you need to set up a Greenhouse in Farming Simulator 25. The game has several such structures that you can use to make money, including a Cement Factory. Do check our guide if this is something that interests you.
