Maximizing your yield will in turn increase your profits, and who does not love the extra cash. Farming Simulator 25 lets you maximize your yield in a number of ways, in this guide we will show you how to do that.
Maximizing Your Yield – Farming Simulator 25
There are various ways in which you can maximize your yield and earn a much better profit. Yes a 100% yield profit and bonus is also possible, let us see how you can do that. This is called ‘Yield Improvement’.
Methods | Additional Bonus (in Percentage) | |
---|---|---|
1. | Liming | 15 |
2. | Soil Rolling | 2.5 |
3. | Weeding | 20 |
4. | Mulching | 2.5 |
5. | Use of Fertilizers | 45 |
6. | Plowing | 15 |
You have to practice the above 6 methods to maximize your yield.
Maximizing Your Yield- Liming
- Once you are done with 3 harvests on your field you should lime it. On the 2nd liming session your bonus shall drop down to 10% and 5% for the 3rd liming session. After 3 liming sessions or 3 harvests, you will again need to lime it.
- Should be done before sowing/planting.
- Practicing liming shall increase your bonus. It is practiced to increase the acidic (pH) level of the soil and for a better yield.
- You should use the ‘K105’ for liming, you will find this machine under ‘Fertilizer Spreaders’. Purchase some lime to perform liming , you should find that under ‘Consumables’.
- To find out which of your fields need liming urgently, head over to one of your fields and go into maps, and under ‘Soil Composition’ you will see the option for ‘Needs Lime’. If not already turned on, click on it and you should see the fields marked in teal (they need lime).
Maximizing Your Yield- Soil Rolling
- Similar to liming, check on the map which fields will need soil rolling (you will not need to do it always).
- Attach a roller to your tractor (check tractor power requirement under each roller). You will find them in ‘Yield Improvements’ of the vehicles menu.
- Stones in the fields create machine wear and tear. You need to practice soil rolling to reduce the number of stones on the surface by pushing them down, smoothening the soil and to increase your yield quality. Note: Only stones which are marked in yellow (on your map) can be pushed down.
- You should practice rolling after sowing/planting, this will make the soil get more exposure to oxygen and become compact.
- You can use an AI worker to help you do this mundane task.
Maximizing Your Yield- Weeding
- You can turn off weeds in the options menu, but we do not recommend you doing that, as that will not give you your yield bonus.
- Not removing weeds will give you a 15% less yield. You can view which of your fields have weeds in the soil composition map. The darker the shade more the weed. Brown fields means weeds have been removed.
Weed Type | Weeding Method |
---|---|
Small Weeds | Use a Weeder |
Medium Weeds | Use a Hoe or a Sprayer |
Large Weeds | Use a Sprayer |
- Note: The ‘Pottinger’ -‘Rotocare V 12400’ can be used for small and medium weeds.
- All the weeding equipment’s can be found under ‘Yield Improvements’.
- For large weeds the ‘Sprayer’ uses herbicides to completely kill the weeds. You can purchase herbicides from consumables.
- Technically you can use a ‘Sprayer’ for all weed types but it will turn out to be costlier when using for small or medium weeds. Remove weeds at early stages to save on herbicides.
Maximizing Your Yield- Mulching
- You will find mulchers in the vehicles menu, use mulchers to remove remainder’s of crops (stubbles). Basic grains tend to have stubbles.
- Mulching should be practiced just before you sow/plant any crop or immediately after finishing harvesting.
- The ‘Knoche Speedmax 560’ can be attached either to the front or the back of a tractor.
- We recommend you assign an AI worker for this task if you have a fairly large field.
Maximizing Your Yield – Use of Fertilizers
Fertilizers amount to the maximum yield bonus. Therefore you should give fertilizers your top priority. There are different ways to fertilize your field.
Fertilization Method | |
---|---|
1. | Salt |
2. | Liquid |
3. | Manure |
4. | Slurry |
5. | Digestate |
- Fertilized fields come in two states, the first state is denoted by a light blue color and the second state with a darker blue. Rice will just require 1 state of fertilizer, rest all the crops require 2 states.
- Use can use seeders for fertilizers, if you have liquid fertilizers we recommend you use the ‘Kinze 4905 Blue Drive’.
- On an average you can fertilize a field once a month (1 layer a month).
- We recommend using spreaders for solid fertilizers and sprayers for the liquid fertilizers. Sowing oil-seeds can add a layer of fertilization to your field and you can grow other crops on the same field once the oil-seed has grown fully (cultivate the field).
Maximizing Your Yield – Plowing
- You can check your map to see which fields require plowing. You should plow the field when you are ready for sowing/planting the next crop. This will create a new field.
- For plowing you can use plows, spaders and subsoilers.
- Plowing is very necessary if your field has root crops, as the roots of these crops go deep down and it is crucial to remove them.
- Plowing will help in reducing weed growth amounting to a higher and better yield.
Maximizing Your Yield – Tips
- If you are driving a tractor on a field with crops the tire type may damage the crops.
- Crops with stage1 growth will not be affected.
- Reduce tire width to decrease crop damage (can be found in vehicle settings).
- Turning on Field info in setting should give you detailed information about your field.
- Small stones can be buried with rolling, bigger stones (marked in darker shades of yellow) need stone pickers.
Practicing all the above ‘Yield Improvement’ techniques shall guarantee you a 100% yield bonus.
