How To Increase Your Carrying Capacity In New World: Aeternum
You increase your carrying capacity in New World: Aeternum by equipping higher tier bags, unlocking trait nodes, equipping buffs related to your carrying capacity, increasing your base stats and unlocking encumbrance based bonuses.
In order to increase your Encumbrance you must first understand how this stat is calculated.
This stat takes into account the total value of the weight of all items combined in your inventory and then it subtracts your Encumbrance buffs from it like Item Weight Decrease and Weight Capacity Increase. These bonuses which are subtracted are attributed to several items which your character can equip like bags, and gear. Your base stats in the game also affect your Encumbrance stat.
Equipping High Tier Bags
True to its namesake, this is the item that helps you increase your Encumbrance the most so it’s always wise to keep equipping higher tier bags whenever possible.
Higher Tier Bags come with increased weight capacities and Extra Pockets which increases your encumbrance further. You can either purchase these bags from the Trading Post or craft them yourself.
There are 3 bag slots in New World which you will unlock at Level 5, 30 and 45 respectively hence, once you surpass the hard cap at level 45, you can equip 3 bags at once.
Read the description of the bag and it’s perks carefully before you equip it to your character. We recommend you to have the bags with the best Burden Perks and extra pockets equipped.
Extra Pockets can increase your Carrying Capacity by 50-95, depending on the tier and its individual gear score(quality).
