MMORPG fans have been waiting for New World to release on consoles. The game has a pretty big world to explore, and there would be times when you would want to quickly fast travel to complete a quest, or reach the nearest location to it and get on with the game. In this guide, we have detailed out all methods of fast travel in New World: Aeternum.
All Ways To Fast Travel In New World: Aeternum
You can fast travel in New World: Aeternum by using Inns, Spirit Shrines & homes. Let’s look at all these in detail.
Using Fast Travel Shrines
Spirit Shrines in New World Aeternum are called Fast Travel shrines. These are locations that allow players to fast travel from one location to another. You can only fast travel to a previously visited settlement / fast travel point, and you have to be near another fast travel point to be able to access this option. So, you will always have to make your way to the nearest Spirit Shrine before you can use this option to fast travel. Spirit Shrines that have not been unlocked yet will appear in silver on your map, ones that have been unlocked will have a gold symbol.
This option of fast travel will cost you Azoth. The amount of Azoth needed per fast travel will depend upon the distance from your current location to the place where you are looking to fast travel to. There are also faction discounts which help reduce the cost of fast travel. Interestingly, if your faction owns the Restless Shore Fort, fast travel becomes free of cost.
Using Inns
Another option to fast travel in New World Aeternum is by using inns. First, go to an inn in any of the settlements. Interact with the innkeeper to set the inn a recall point. You can have only one such inn set as a recall point at a time. It is best to set up an inn in area where you are currently going to do a lot of your current questing.
To use that inn to fast travel, simply open the map, click on the inn, and choose the ‘Recall to Inn’ option. There is a 30-minute cooldown for this option but it won’t cost you any Azoth. Also, unlike the point to point travel requirement in case of Spirit Shrines, you have the freedom to use it from anywhere in Aeternum.
Own A Home In New World
Another option to fast travel in New World Aeternum is owning a home. Yes! If you own a home in a settlement and have honestly paid your taxes, you can use your home as a fast travel point to that settlement. You can buy a home in New World: Aeternum once you have reached level 15 and have at least 1 Territory Standing Point in the region where you are looking to purchase.
As of now, you can own up to 3 homes but each will have its own cooldown period for fast travel. The cooldown period depends on its tier(The tier decides things like max storage chests, pets and similar other items that you can keep at your home):
- Tier 1: 4 hours
- Tier 2: 3 hours
- Tier 3: 2.5 hours
- Tier 4: 2 hours
Fast Travel to your home does not cost you anything, and like in case of Inns, you can use it from anywhere. There is also a workaround to the cooldown period: pay Azoth! The amount of Azoth to be paid depends on the cooldown time left. The lesser the cooldown time, the lesser the fee.
You can also get a Mount which is, literally, ‘fast travel’! To get a mount, you will have to purchase the Angry Earth expansion and reach level 25. This reduces the time taken to travel. Or, you could ditch all of this and just travel by road; benefitting from the extra 15% movement speed buff. Although, this stays only if you are out of combat.
There is a lot to do in the game, and like any good MMORPG, the first task for you is to use all means to level up as quickly as possible. Luckily for you, we have put out a detailed guide on exactly this for you to go through, do check it out!
