Remnant 2 is a third-person action shooter game that is filled with exciting quests and combat. Like every other Soulslike Game, this also features interesting items that help you progress through the game. One of them is the Crop Sample item in the Dark Horizon DLC. Finding the location of the item can get a little confusing, which is why we have created this guide covering everything about Crop Sample in Remnant 2.
How To Find The Crop Sample In Remnant 2
You can find Crop Sample in the Detritus Foundry, a dungeon in The Dark Horizon DLC. It can spawn in any of the tower-type dungeons, specifically the ones with long, winding bridges. The area is heavily guarded, so be cautious when entering.
What Should You Do With The Crop Sample In Remnant 2
There are several ways you can use the Crop Sample, each yielding a different outcome. Depending on what you decide to do with it, the reward can vary.
Red Statue Route
Once you’ve got your hands on the Crop Sample from the middle area of the dungeon, locate the nearest elevator. It will bring you down to an area with two statues—one red and one blue.
In the room, you will also find a dead corpse with a Quantum Memory amulet drop, which is good for a range build.
To enable the red statue option, plant the Crop Sample near it. After that, leave the dungeon, save at a nearby checkpoint, and re-enter the dungeon. Take the elevator down to the statue area.
As you move towards the red statue, the Inverted Shambler will appear along with enemies from the upper room. Defeating this enemy rewards you with the Repercussion Mutator.
Blue Statue Route
To go with the blue statue route, reroll your adventure to spawn the Crop Sample again. Follow the same process as before. But this time, place the sample at the blue statue. Like the red statue, save and reload the dungeon.
When you return, head to the blue statue location. You will find the Gossamer Heart relic, one of the two in the DLC. This relic increases your evade window frames and grants an additional bonus to evade frames for a short time after use.
Delivering The Crop Sample To Duane
You can use the Crop Sample by taking it back to Ward 13 as well. Hand it to Duane, the resident cook. He will use the item to create a Numbing Agent concoction.
Note: Some players have reported that they acquired a Numbing Agent from another player in a multiplayer game. But if you’re playing solo, you can consider this option.
If you’ve previously acquired the Meat Shake and Egg Drink concoction from Duane, he will also reward you with the Chef’s Medal amulet.
Unlocking The Cessation Bulbel Amulet
There is another way you can use the Crop Sample. However, it is quite a complex multi-step quest.
If you own all three DLCs, this is something you’ll want to attempt. Check for the Root in Ward 13:
- If the Root is present, you can proceed with the quest.
- In case the Root is not available, you need to locate the Profane Soul Stone in the Infested Abyss dungeon – available in the Yaesha Adventure Roll.
For the next step of the quest, enter the One True King DLC. Progress through the campaign till you meet the King. Make sure that you do not fight him and agree to his demand to kill Nimue. You will receive the Rod of Retribution amulet after that.
Follow through with his request and make your way to Nimue. After you exhaust her dialogue, she will give you the chance to either spare her or kill her. If you make the choice to spare Nimue, she will reward you with Nimue’s Vow.
After that, go back to the One True King to initiate a boss fight. You’ll receive Nimue’s Blood-Marred Vow item after defeating him.
Return to Ward 13 and locate the Root. Then place the Crop Sample and Nimue’s Blood-Marred Vow in the Root. This action triggers an interaction with the Root and rewards you with the Cessation Bulbel amulet.
