In Farming Simulator 25 you can be a farmer, a businessman, an industrialist and a lot more. If you are new to the game, let me tell you that tractors will be used for more than just farming. There are 3 types of tractors which you can use for multiple purposes. In this guide we will walk you through the types, and the Best Starting Tractors in Farming Simulator 25.
Best Starting Tractors: Tractor Categories
In Farming Simulator 25, the tractors are classified according to their specifications (torque, horsepower, weight capacity, speed etc.) into 3 categories: Small, Medium and Large. Your starting budget depends upon which presets, how much starting money and loan amount you have chosen in the game beginning.
Pro Tip: If you have temporary missions/contracts which require the use of large tractors, you can take them on lease instead of purchasing them. This will save you a lot of money and get the mission done.
Best Starting Small Tractors In Farming Simulator 25
‘Landini Rex 4 GT‘, the ‘Antonio Carraro Mach 4R‘ or the ‘New Holland TK 4.80 Methane Power’ are what we recommend for vine work and olive farming. If you want to start with vine work, olives and orchards then these small tractors are ideal for navigating small spaces.
‘Linder Lindtrac 130‘ is the one we recommend if you want to spend a bit more for a CVT gearbox tractor, not only does it have a better CVT gearbox, it also comes with sufficient horsepower to accomplish early game tasks.
‘Zetor Proxima HS‘ is what we recommend, as it is one of the more budget-friendly tractors, and you can get basic farming tasks done through this one. If you are just starting to create your farm world and have a small basic field, we recommend using a small tractor. They are cheap, and ideal to perform basic farming tasks (e.g. field preparation). But they have low torque, horsepower and speeds, also they cannot carry heavy loads. If you have a small animal barn, use small tractors to deliver food and water. You can practice field preparation and maintenance (cutting grass, trim hedges etc.) in a budget friendly way with the help of small tractors.
Best Starting Medium Tractors In Farming Simulator 25
The ‘Challenger MT600 Series‘ (priced at $83500; without options) is what we recommend, if you want a tractor just to haul trailers and the best medium-haul tractor to start with.
The ‘Deutz Fahr Series 7 TTV HD‘ (priced at $251500; without options) and the ‘Massey Ferguson MF 7S‘ are what we recommend if you want to start with a medium sized tractors that can be used for almost all farming and miscellaneous work.
If you have started the game with a comparatively bigger budget, or have saved up money and want to upgrade from small tractors, then using medium tractors is the way to go. Medium tractors have a higher torque, horse power, fuel capacity and speed as compared to small tractors. But with the additional benefits they come with a higher buying price and costlier maintenance.
You can use them in medium to large size fields for carrying out farming tasks with heavy machinery. They have sufficient torque and horse power to be equipped with large trailers and equipment. If you are starting with a greenhouse, you can use medium tractors to transport water and crops. You can also attach a front loader and a pallet fork for moving around pallets.
Best Starting Large Tractors In Farming Simulator 25
‘John Deere 9R Series‘ (priced at $468,500; without options) or the ‘Claas Xerion 12′ (priced at $56500; without options) are the best in class and are the ones we recommend if you want to start by purchasing large tractors straight away. If you have started the game with a huge amount (although we think it is not really needed that early into the game), then you can purchase large tractors. They have the best torque, horsepower, goods carrying and fuel capacity, but are significantly costlier than small and medium tractors.
We suggest, if you have just started Farming Simulator 25 whether with a small or a big budget, instead of purchasing a large tractor you lease one. You can use large tractors to transport heavy goods, carry out heavy farming activities (seeding, plowing etc.) and almost pull and transport anything .
Note: Maintain and repair your tractor time to time. If you are going to drive in a field with grown crops, then equip the tractor with thin tires for lesser crop damage. If your field has stones it can damage your tractor.
And that completes all the information you need on the best tractors to start with in Farming Simulator 25. We also have recommendations on how to buy and sell land in Farming Simulator 25, as well as setting up a greenhouse in Farming Simulator 25. Do check out our guides on these topics.
