Along with introducing AI, new crops, machinery Farming Simulator 25 introduces new maps which can be played in the base game. You can build your farm world in 3 maps. All the farming, production, animal activities etc. can be done on all maps. In this guide we will go through the types of maps and which are best suited according to your preferences in Farming Simulator 25.
Farming Simulator 25: Maps
The 3 base maps in Farming Simulator 25 are:
- The first map (base map) called ‘Riverbend Springs‘ is based in Northern America.
- The second map is called ‘Hutan Pantai‘ which is based in East Asia.
- And the last map is called ‘Zielonka‘ (updated version of its predecessor) which is based in the Central European region.
Let’s examine each of these one by one, ranked from best to worst.
Farming Simulator 25 Map #1: Riverbend Springs
We recommend if you are new to Farming Simulator 25, then start with this map. This map is best if you plan to structure your farming organization at a large scale. The map is meant to portray a typical American farmland and has one of the maximum construction projects available in-game.
In this map you will find abundant natural water bodies which you can use for your farms, animals, greenhouses etc. Near these natural water bodies thee will be accessible docks which players can use. You can catch ferries to travel from one end to the other.
You can find 25 historical/antique items and you can collect them to earn rewards (each antique item will earn you 10000 game currency). The travel grid (roads and paths) makes it easier to traverse the map.
You can make much more money in Riverbend Springs as compared to the other two base maps. While starting the game if you have selected to ‘own the main farm’ then by default you will own Fields: 1,2,3,4 and 5.
Farming Simulator 25 Map #2: Hutan Pantai
Hutan Pantai comes across as the first ever base map featured in an Asian continent. This map is a blend of the East Asian countryside and the modern cityside. Hutan Pantai was created in a way players would experience the hard work a farmer does in order to keep cities running and well stocked with supplies.
If you want to experience the workflow and interconnectivity of East Asian farms and cities, the we recommend you play on this map. In this East Asian inspired map, the game world is made more immersive and authentic by the use of East Asian infrastructure like: ‘suspended train bridges’, raised highways, Asian architecture etc.
The map terrain is a mix of mountainous region and a flat terrain. The map looks best at night time with all the colorful neon lights lit up. While starting the game if you have selected to ‘own the main farm’ then this map offers you 3 ready to harvest rice fields (field 30 and 31) along with 2 empty fields (27 and 28).
There are approximately 80 fields in this map.
Farming Simulator 25 Map #3: Zielonka
As this map is based in the Central European region it has a Polish influence and the map takes inspiration from the European farms and has field layouts accordingly. Apart from a few large fields, you will mostly find long and narrow (some what rectangular) fields as compared to Riverbend Springs and Hutan Pantai.
This map was also in Farming Simulator 22 as ‘premium expansion’ pack. But Zielonka is a part of the base maps in Farming Simulator 25. You are well connected with the towns and fields through roads, but travelling between fields may become tricky due to narrowness of the roads, this may increase travel/transport durations.
Even though most of the fields are narrow and long, the map layout overall is aesthetically pleasing. The map is based on a flat terrain. You will find playgrounds, apartments, football fields along with local businesses etc. once you explore the map.
There are approximately 109 fields in this map. You will find 2 additional production plants introduced: Biogas plant and Cement factory. While starting the game if you have selected to ‘own the main farm’ then by default you will own fields 45 and 46.
Note: All maps are standard 2 kilometers x 2 kilometers in size. The crop seasonal calendar does not change with map. You can download various mods for your maps. Every map will have different NPC locations.
We have been playing Farming Simulator 25 a lot, and have come up with the best starting machinery, and best tractors in the game. Do check these guides out and see if you have missed out on any of these in your gameplay so far.
