A Guide On How To Feed And Water Your Animals In Farming Simulator 25
Tractors, trucks, barrels and trailers will be the means for you to feed and water your animals. Feed and water are the two main factors contributing to an animal’s health and yield. Let’s look in detail at each of these.
How To Feed Your Animals In Farming Simulator 25
To feed any animal go to the pen/barn and make your way toward the ‘Food’ symbol as shown in the image above. However, different animals have a different combination of feed that works best for them.
How To Feed Cows
- Attach your TMR (total mixed ration) mixer onto a tractor and make your way into the cow barn towards the food symbol and press the trigger key. Or use a forklift to directly place haybales into the cow pen.
- For cows we strongly recommend you do not rely on feeding them meadows, you will not receive any milk from them. For milking them feed them with TMR for the best output yield. TMR is a mixture of silage and hay.
- You can make TMR on your own with ‘Forage Mixers‘ or you can also feed them with hay bales and silage.
- Cows will not eat haybales made of straw.
How To Feed Horses
- For horses feed them with root crops, oats and hay.
- Use trucks to dump the food on the food or ‘dump’ area as shown above.
How To Feed Pigs
- Pigs can mostly be fed anything.
- You can feed them ‘pig feed‘ which is a combination of grains proteins and root crops.
- We recommend you use the ‘Fednt 1050 Vario‘ to transport the feed, and dump the feed in the food or dump zone.
How To Feed Goats & Sheep
- Goats/Sheep are the least fussy animals.
- You can feed them hay and grass using any vehicle which can carry hay.
- Use your truck and dump the food at the designated zones.
How To Feed Chickens
- You can feed chicken with grains like barley, wheat and sorghum.
- You can use tractors with trailers like the ‘Claas Xerion 12.590’ or the ‘Massey Ferguson MF 3707 AL’ to carry food.
- Make your way to the chicken pen with your trailer and dump the chicken food at the food or dump zone.
- Chicken coop has a larger capacity to store food than chicken pens.
How To Feed Bees
- You do not need to feed bees, just place them near flowers and crops.
How To Water Your Animals In Farming Simulator 25
How you source, store and supply Water are the key parts of what you need to look at when considering how to water animals in Farming Simulator 25. Except for bees all other animals will require water.
How To Store Water
To transport water you will need water barrels as shown in the image above. Go into the ‘Vehicles’ menu, then under the ‘Animal’ tab you will see ‘Barrels’.The first two barrels can be hitched up to a pickup truck or a tractor, and for the later two, we recommend using a powerful tractor or a truck. Choose the barrels according to your needs.
How To Source Water
You can source water from three resources:
Water Source | Chargeable |
---|---|
Rivers/Natural Water Bodies On The Map | No |
Constructable Water Containers | Yes |
Water Towers | Yes |
For sourcing water from natural bodies just back up your barrel as shown in the image above and press the refill button. To use water containers and towers just drive up to them and press the refill button. Once you have filled up your barrel with enough water, make your way to the field where your animals are kept.
How To Supply Water
- Align your barrel with the symbol of a ‘water drop‘ which you will find at the entry of the pasture (pen). Your barrel should be inside the ‘water drop’ symbol.
- Then press the trigger button and you will see your water barrel emptying up, this means the water has reached the animals.
- Note: For cows, only cow barns are water-sufficient (will not require water), cow pens will need water. Similarly, pig pastures require water, whereas pigsties and pig barns are water-sufficient.
